Exhibition activities
Panels, symposiums and free workshops entitled, `Encounters Between Women`, in which a female audience meet the artists, will be organised throughout the Dream and Reality exhibition. The workshops, to be held on one Thursday each month, will give participants the opportunity to meet some of the artists whose works are showcased in the Dream and Reality exhibition, to make short interviews regarding artists` creative processes and to create works of art together with the artists. Artists Arzu Basaran, Guneg Terkol, Gul Ilgaz and artist formation AtilKunst (Gozde Ilkin, Gulgin Aksoy, Yasemin Nur Toksoy) will produce art together with the female audience in workshops designed for `Encounters Between Women`.
Actress Derya Alabora has prepared a selection at Istanbul Modern Cinema, entitled `Dream and Reality`, featuring women directors, actresses and film characters who have marked a turning point for Turkish cinema. Seminars will run alongside the film schedule.
The exhibition also aims to commemorate innovative female artists in cinema this autumn early 40 international award-winning films to Turkey, is for us with a special selection to term , Bursa, Konya, Trabzon to Istanbul has a special place in the hearts of Turkey`s film-lovers, as it not only screens blockbusters but also the original, profound works of auteur-directors (who write, produce and direct films) and productions which have received awards in the respected festivals of the world.
Organised by the Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation, Filmekimi will be brought to film-lovers between 8 and 15 October. Nearly 40 films, some winning awards in the world`s major festivals, with world premiers in Berlin, Cannes, Venice and Toronto along with the latest works of renowned filmmakers, will be brought to audiences. Filmekimi will be held at Beyoglu and Atlas cinemas in Beyoglu, as well as at Nijantasi City`s and Cinebonus Magka G-Mall for eight days
